An exciting day in Bahrain was cut short for all the teams starting off with a red flag two and a half hours in.
Debris was left on the track at turn 11 after a gap within a drain.
Leclerc shifted the cover and then Hamilton followed leaving parts flying across the track.
This left the cars in panic mode but thankfully there wasn't any bad damage for either of the cars.
Ferrari did have their boards up in the garage hinting that they took the floor of the race car off to check all the components.
Due to the red flag it allowed the teams to check and didn't lose any mileage with Leclerc given extra time.
After the altercations the afternoon was extended.
After the break a few drivers opted to swap drivers throughout the day which became time consuming with the sudden twist.
To start off eager to get onto the track, Alonso was the first to start off pre-testing for Aston Martin.
Sainz went in full force taking the top speed with a time of 1.29 to start the day.
He may have been the quickest for day two but Red Bull are still staying strong at the top.
Perez stood up to Red Bull’s standard coming second with the most laps despite some struggles with the RB20 with the brakes overheating and losing power.
Regardless of the issues Perez has shown signs of consistency which hopefully will run through the rest of the season.
The new Mercedes car showed more grip and better balance than previous years and hopefully gives Mercedes a chance to get on the first step of the podium.
Hamilton may have placed third but problems were faced in the making with his steering after a snap in turn four.
Hamilton adjusted to regulations and addressed the mechanics involving being sat too far forward and moved him further to the rear of the car.
Mercedes have created a lot of hope during the past two days with lots of optimism compared to how they felt last year leaving Hamilton and Russell with positive reactions.
The two will be joined together for the final pre-testing day tomorrow.
Norris secured another solid day for Mclaren as fourth with only a few small issues in the pipeline.
Riccardo kept up with his place in the top five for RB as developments moved on further.
With not just the Ferrari car getting better the two drivers worked together, with Leclerc achieving the best time during the morning, coming in sixth on the board.
Overall testing is showing positive developments for each of the teams giving us fans an insight into what's to come for the season..
