A Day in Haworth: Cobblestones, Moors, and Memories

Recently, for my birthday to celebrate, I visited Haworth with my best friend. As a lover of the Brontë's in my budding teens it only felt right with the new Wuthering Heights film that came out in February.

Advice: We visited on a Monday and most of the shops and food places were shut. There was enough to do but you could get more out of Haworth if you chose a better day e.g. the weekend.

The first thing we did was of course visit the Brontë Parsonage Museum. It was £13.50 each to look round and learn about the family and where the stories came from. When we arrived the house looked small and I was shocked to see there was so much to see inside. From family rooms to bedrooms it was so interesting to see what it was like hundreds of years ago. Having a graveyard outside their house which you could see out of the window definitely had a lot to answer for all the sisters' dark writing. At the back of the house was the museum side where you could see where the history has moved on into now, which was so interesting in the modern era of their stories.

As much as the museum was an important part, seeing a walking round where they lived being around their doctors, school and church was breath taking. It gave me goosebumps thinking about how they walked these streets and once lived.

If you ever visit, you must walk around the shops. It is book heaven, from modern fiction to classics you won't be disappointed. Besides that there are so many lovely and impressive small businesses to explore.

Still onto shopping, I couldn't recommend enough The Cabinet of Curiosities. I had never heard of it before and if I go again I will have some money ready for a spree. It is amazing, they sell the most stunning skincare, bathing care, candles and books. The set up inside is impressive and even better, the staff were lovely.

On our visit we visited a cafe called: Cafe Verde. It was pleasant and nice enough to get a bite to eat and drink but personally wouldn't choose to go there again. Initially we wanted to go to a tea room round the corner but unfortunately it was shut.

Before you leave you have to have a little wander around the Moors especially if you have seen the new adaption of Wuthering Heights as you are taken to the movie, it was safe to say it was magical.
