April TV

If you are movie and TV show lovers like us, you will watch a lot. Whether that be at the cinema and through streaming. Here are some picks from this month.

Married at First Sight Australia:

MAF’s is a social experiment where strangers are matched by relationship experts and marry when they first meet and continue their relationship from there.

We are all suckers for a bit of reality TV, I am. For years I have been watching MAF’s and I have never seen a season so dramatic. Not only in the couples but in friendships too! So many conflicts and back turns you couldn't imagine how many switch ups there could be. There were people from all walks of life, opinions and attitudes that you can't believe in the real world are still a present in society.

This series is rated an easy 4.7/5.

At Home with the Furys:

This is a Netflix documentary series where they follow Tyson Fury and his family through their life outside the ring.

As a lover not only just for the first season but the Fury’s himself I anticipated another series. As much as I wanted more from them and they brought me a lot of joy, I was concerned it wouldn't live up to my expectations. How I was so wrong. This was even crazier than the last. I know for some they either aren't interested or have a love for the family. But they are real and authentically themselves. Which you don't find very often in this world. Their history and heritage is more prominent than ever with children growing up and was just a fantastic watch. It is perfect if you are looking for a funny and easy watch.

This series is rated an easy 5/5.

Amandaland:

This is a British Comedy spin off from Motherland as Amanda navigates life in a new home.

A very rogue choice for myself as I had never watched the Motherland. After seeing it in the top ten on Netflix it was just about giving it a go. I am so glad I took the plunge. It is now my first choice to put on in the background when I am busy in the house and also to just cheer me up. I cant lie you have to have very silly humour, granted not for everyone. If I had to compare it to something, it would be Miranda.

I would rate this 5/5.

Goat:

Now an animated film about a small goat who wants to revolutionize the animal sporting world in a game called roarball.

I love a good cartoon and will just about watch any cartoon. This was really fun to watch, especially within the style of the cartoon. It looked like it was actually drawn out on the screen just like Spiderman: Across the Multiverse. This is what initially drew me into watching it. I liked the storyline, as an adult you see how the point of the film is much deeper and reflects a problem within society. The power of cartoons and teaching children these narratives just shows how important they are.

I would rate this 3 stars out of 5.

Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen:

Onto something a bit darker is a horror miniseries about a cursed family and wedding going into doom.

This was a tricky one for myself. I really enjoyed it up until episode 5. The last part of the series I couldn't get along with for me it felt silly and daft. I am not sure if it was because I had hopes of it being something in my head that it ended up not being. I am not sure. The concept, setting and acting was brilliant. The attention to detail was definitely there. I just felt the story swerved away too much and I had lots of questions.

I would rate this series 3 stars out of 5.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come:

Last but not least is an American comedy/horror sequel which entails a widowed bride lured into deadly games of hide and seek again.

From watching the first one, watching the second was a no brainer to me. I enjoyed both and it didn't feel like a repeat to me. It brought new eccentric characters and a whole new exciting setting. Towards the end it became darker and tied up any loose ends from the first film.

I would rate this four out of five stars.
