Soon I will be catching a flight for my holiday in Spain, how exciting so I thought I would show what I am going to read for the month of May.

Yesteryear:

We have our book club pick of the month, Yesteryear. An American woman, wife and mother sells milk and eggs to millions of social media followers. Out of the blue she finds out the reality of 1805. Natalie lives a simple life with her cowboy husband and six children. She has nannies behind the scenes and even producers. With 8 million followers to please, what they don't know can't hurt them. She is living the good life whilst making an entire empire with it. One day she wakes up and her life isn't hers anymore. Everything is the same but something feels off. Has she become part of a reality show or is it time travel? All she has to do is escape.

Wedding People:

Now on holiday with writer Alison Espach. Phoebe arrives at the Grand Cornwall Inn. A holiday away, until she is roped into a wedding in the lobby. She has dreamed of visiting the place but it ends up becoming involved with all the wedding activities and even the bride confiding in her. Throughout the week she endures lots of stories and finds herself healing and finding new perspectives comparing her life at home.

Sunburn:

To a queer romance fiction is the debut novel written by Chloe Michelle Howarth. Set in the nineties in Ireland main character Lucy feels different. Even with her friends it has always felt this way with the narratives of getting married and being a mother hovering in the back of her mind. During summer question marks start to disappear with her friend, Susannah as a romantic relationship starts to blossom. With her unwelcoming community Lucy's double life becomes unbearable. As the end of school is looming she has to decide who she is and whether to choose happiness.

Kin:

And finally with writer, Tayari Jones. Sisters, Vernice and Annie are motherless living in Louisiana. Luckily they have been raised by friends and neighbours and most of all their fierce aunt who wants to give them a stable home. Vernice has plans to go to college and becomes connected with a new sisterhood of black women and ends up marrying into an affluent family. In the background is Annie who is abandoned by her mother. Her fixation on finding her leaves nothing but a hole. She sets off on a journey to go into a world of adversity but as well adventure. Leading her to a battle of her life.
