Strawberry Stage: A Sweet Milestone in Your Pregnancy Journey

Dear Diary,
Our little bean is now almost the size of a strawberry! This Easter weekend, we visited family and were able to share our beautiful miracle with them. Traditionally, my cousins and I play a game of charades with the family. It’s always the ‘kids’ ‘versus adults’. Which really just means me, my husband, my siblings and my cousins against all our parents. We are quite competitive!
This year, my husband and I decided that on our last turn, he would act out my name and ‘
pregnant’. It was such a sweet moment seeing everyone guessing and then watching it click on all their faces. We celebrated and cheered (twice the celebrations, actually, since our team also won).
Another milestone this week is we completed the bloodwork for genetic and chromosomal abnormality testing. The results are still pending and we will receive the results in the next week or two. The nerves are settling in but we are trying our best to stay busy to avoid overthinking.
In terms of symptoms, the nausea seems to be getting worse somehow. But everyone is telling me that it’ll get really bad and then vanish in a few weeks.
Fingers crossed for that!
We are so close to the end of the first trimester and I feel like I can finally start dreaming about what our lives will be like in the next 6 months. We’ve talked about routines, what we want to teach our baby, where we might move to once the baby arrives. It’s exciting being able to explore such a new chapter of life with my husband. We’ve had new conversations, talked about vulnerabilities in a way we haven’t before, and gotten closer emotionally in ways I didn’t think were possible.
Looking forward to the warmer spring weather and more baby milestones!
B.
