Here at Luna, we are Formula One girlie fans! But how can we educate you on the basics for the new season, for those interested or just want to know all the fuss?
F1 to those who don't know is a single seating race with ten teams and two drivers per team who compete across the globe.
First of all, every Formula One Grand Prix weekend runs over three days. Starting with two one hour practice sessions, being FP1 and FP2. Then we have a final practice session on the second day being FP3. This is so they can understand their car and make any alterations in order to make it better or stop it from being banned from the film. On the second day we have qualifying. This is split into three and the slowest six drivers are eliminated. Moving onto the ten remaining, into the third part ready to set up the pole positions of the Grand Prix.
On the race day laps can differ depending on the distance of the track. Some weekends have a Sprint involved. Which means this speedy format focuses on the racing side not strategy, with no pit stops.
The race director for the actual race will turn the red lights on after another and once they are all lit, lights out and away we go.
If you win or are on the podium here are the points you win:
1st = 25
2nd =18
3rd = 15
Every location they attend is completely different with weather, tracks, and lengths.
At the end of the season there are two titles to win, Constructors and Drivers Championship. Constructors are within the team whereas drivers are individual.
And that's it here are the basics to set you up for the 2026 season!
