I Wander If

I wander if the birds agree…
Onlooking from above
They can see
Bundles of love
Setting us free
The sheep rearing their lambs
Bouquets bought for no reason
Parents fussing over their prams
All through the seasons
Not just through phones
or last-minute texts
It must seep into your bones
in every context
Love is not reserved only for those in pairs
Love is for anything and everything
That makes life feel shared
The warm smiles
The gentle hand
I hope the birds see for miles
That love is easy to understand
Although the world is troubled
When compassion seems to fail
I’d like to think love has doubled
Not left stale
I wander if the birds agree…
Onlooking from above
They can see
Bundles of love
Setting us free
