2016’s back, it’s like it never left! For many millennials and Gen Zers, 2016 has
been the talk of the town, reminiscing on old trends and how peaceful life was. It’s deemed the last moment before politics, social media and the truth of the world fell into place and took hold of so many lives.
There was no cost-of-living crisis, rarely any politics embedded in the writing you read, and overall, it was just a simplistic way of life where everyone was relaxed and full of enthusiasm.
Many trends from back then, I believe, need to not make a comeback. However, there are a few I will be taking with me through 2026, and I think you all should too!
Hygge: The Danish/Norwegian concept of cosiness and comfort. It is a reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple pleasures of life, no matter how small.
Skincare sheet masks: Something as cheap as £1.50 can bring such simple relaxation to life. It gives you those 15 minutes toward the end of the day to just reflect on your experiences and wind down.
Space buns: An easy yet cute, stylish hairstyle for every fun occasion, whether it's a music festival during the peak of summer or a night out with friends.
Bomber jackets: An iconic look can be achieved at any time with this jacket. It’s just so comfortable and really ties together the outfit. I wear mine pretty much every day!
Hearing ‘2016’ may bring back many memories for you. Why not reminisce along with us and carry out some of the popular trends from back then too!
