Poem: "Already here"

  • Feb 1
  • 1 min read

I’m already holding you in my arms

Marveling at each tiny extension

Of your body

The ripple of your nose

wrinkly bow tie of your lips

Lively caterpillars of fingers and toes

Each wondering in their own direction

Tough roundness of your heels

soft roundness of your belly

how  your weight feels on my chest

How I hold my breath to listen to yours

How your hair tickles my face

As I press my lips to your head

Inhaling your already so familiar smell.
