Poem: First Valentine’s Day Back Together

  • Feb 14
  • 1 min read

On this day,

First year we got back together,

I wore a short black silk dress

with a vintage belt

And Valentino boots

The once you like

my arms were bare

but of course I had to wear tights,

And oh, I hate them tights, but

It is February after all, - I remembered out loud,

Looking out the window at the snowy landscape

While setting the table

Women remember those things,

You replied generalizing

Dates, Valentine days, bare shoulders

and black silk dresses

There was nothing generic

In the way I felt

All rock n roll

Free and sexy

And happy

And chosen

On that generic holiday

The year we got back together
