Poem: Mother Moon
- Mar 4
- 1 min read
Hanging in the air
a thread unseen
she rises large and known
seen from the farthest distance away
her weight makes her beautiful
becoming drawing even the ebb and flow of the tide.
When she rises at full mast
the cameras come out
a showcase of her beauty
and when she gone
light reflected goes with her
asleep in solitude
preparing to illuminate another night
good.
I vow to protect
the light that shines within me
knowing I am good.
Legacy
I see
the stars in the sky
the way they glisten
twinkle
shine
wink
telling me
with every sparkle
that I am not alone
Centuries of others
eons of creatures
have gone before me
lived before me
loved before me
died before me
and with each sleepy blink
of the stars above me
I am entangled with their reality:
they will go after me
they will live after me
they will love after me
they will die after me
and we all
as one
go together
die together
live together
love together.
Let go
