Verity

WARNING SPOILERS

Colleen Hoover sends chills down our spines with this horror romance.

There's twist and turns that leave you still thinking of what could come next?

Will there be another book?

Lowen Ashleigh is an aspiring writer on her knees due to losing her ill mother leaving behind her daughter with financial struggles.

Out of the blue, a job offer comes up from a bestselling author Verity Crawford who is unable to finish her book collection after a tragic accident involving a car crash.

Unable to move her only hope, her husband, Jeremy Crawford asks Lowen from his wife's wishes to take over.

Lowen takes up the offer and moves into the Crawford's house with the couple and their younger son, Crew.

Whilst living there Lowen has the opportunity to look through old notes and passages for inspiration only to uncover an autobiography that has many twisted tales inside.

Secrets behind her twin daughter's death and manipulative lies about her and Jeremy's life have revolved around for many years.

Over time Lowen holds these secrets and slowly falls in love with Jeremy.

After Verity dramatically dies suddenly the two come together and carry on living a happy life without her.

This isn't your typical thriller, it's better.

I have never read anything of Colleen Hoovers like this before and I thoroughly enjoyed it as I couldn't predict what was going to happen at the end which normally isn't the case.

I finished this book in two days, I loved this whole concept as if the memories and people haunted the house and their new guest.

It gave me goosebumps and chills that I didn't expect.

Throughout you kept questioning what was real or not .

One thing that I loved was the setting and how it was in a desolate house which made the atmosphere more creepier and chilling to read.

Throughout I had a love hate relationship with the characters especially Jeremy, you could never trust how he acted and what he would do next.

Jeremy was suspicious and still to this day I can't figure out if he was the real antagonist whereas throughout you are made to believe its Verity.

Lowen throughout is a complicated character to get to know you and understand but couldn't blame her for her actions and decisions.

From a romance lover myself there were plenty of steamy scenes throughout which added 'some spice' to the story and created a more intense connection between Jeremy and Lowen's relationship the deeper the story got.

When Lowen found Verity's autobiography it changed how you viewed Verity on what once her life was like; whether it is true is still a mystery.

With it being written from Verity's perspective it made you feel like you were Verity going through these events which created tension as Verity's character is practically nonexistent as she doesn't have any physical presence only being laid in her bed.

It created an image of who you thought she was, asking yourself, is this her alter ego?

There are so many questions I still have and are hoping there will be a sequel.
