When Did Having Hobbies Become a Personality Trait?

We all know someone or can relate to this. And I bet you read this as a negative? Here at Luna we think not. We think it is a flex. Even if it is a personality trait. Having hobbies is such an important part of our lives and everyday choices. They can be hard to keep up with and find the time for but at least doing it once a week is enough to keep our spark. It is mentally beneficial to make us switch off and just be in the moment. Whether it is a sport, reading, crafting or gaming they are all just as important as each other. Hobbies are a part of us and our identity because it is what we love so why can't they be a personality trait. When you play Sims you always have to pick whether you are sporty, creative or bookish. So why can't you?

When Did Friendship Become So Complicated?

As we get older relationships start to change and that is normal. What isn't normal is not addressing this. We have expectations of what our friendships are going to be like from others, ourselves and typically movies. When we are young we spend time with our friends pretty much everyday, from school and to when we get home. From sleepovers, to cinema dates and just wandering around in the fields. Then when we leave school and find a job, find partners everything starts to change. We no longer have as much spare time as before. And this is where it can get complicated. Having an understanding that everyone is on a different wavelength is important. And that it doesn't need to be any more complicated than it seems. Having good communication and putting each other first is all that matters. There could be weeks, months that go by and it doesn't mean the friendship has gotten lost. It is a choice of wanting to make it work and valuing each other's time and effort.

Are We Too Old for Celebrity Crushes?

This is a funny one. Do we ever lose our fire for a celebrity crush? I think not. Even my grandma has developed a crush for a ’lovely young man’. By ‘lovely young man’ she meant Jacob Elordi. So at the ripe age of 70 I can assure you, you are never to old for a celebrity crush. And what's the fun in watching something and not having one. That is where all the excitement comes. It's even more interesting to see how our crushes change over time, I mean the ones I had as a teenager I don't particularly have a love for now.

Is It Possible to Have Too Much Self-Awareness?

This one is up for a real debate. Personally I 100% think that sometimes you can be too self aware. It can lead to ruining things happening in real life and most of all takes away the ease of living. You can become tense and high strung looking for certain things. It can become obsessive. But on the other hand I do think everyone needs a certain percentage of being self aware. It is an important part of being in society. Understanding yourself and your emotions is a must. It can take a long time for some, there is no time scale. It is essential for others too, knowing when to act and speak a certain way (reading the room). How we are affects ourselves and others so making sure we are aware of what we are doing and saying can reduce harm and also bring joy in many ways.

Why Are We Romanticising Being Busy?

Burn out has been the new personality trait and guess what, I am not here for it. When I see people having a full schedule or even myself I panic. Wheres the time to think for a minute. From week to week it can be busier than others but an excessive load of plans/schedule frightens me. Being busy for some is essential in life. They quieten the noises in our heads for a while and most all give us purpose. A reason to get up in the morning. But where is the fine line between being overly busy and busy enough? You can be busy in good ways, hobbies, watching tv and more. But if you are doing those at the same time, juggling work life on top it can get a bit much. Making sure to have a balance of both is crucial. Because when it comes to doing the important things you won't be in good shape to tackle it. Look after yourself always.
