Reviewing Every Set I Saw At Latitude 2026

I managed to cram in 14 music and 6 comedy sets during my time at Latitude. These are my thoughts on every act in under 50(ish) words.

Flo and Joan:

The first full set I saw at Latitude were musical comedy duo Flo and Joan. Their witty songs about bringing back shame and remembering every embarrassing thing you’ve ever done were hilarious. 

Sara Pascoe:

Exactly what I was expecting in the best way possible. I was a big fan of Sara when she hosted Sewing Bee, and it was nice to see her delivering stand up. Sara’s honest descriptions of parenting and marriage were very astute.

Chloe Petts:

I was delighted when Chloe Petts was announced in the line up for the next series of Taskmaster, and I’m glad I got to see them perform before the show comes out. It’s so nice to hear comedy about Women’s football hitting the mainstream. 

Florence Road:

Irish indie rock group Florence Road impressed me. I can see why The Last Dinner Party chose them to support them on tour. The crowd really enjoyed their sound, and got behind the group which was lovely to see. I hope they continue to enjoy success in the future.

Jaylen Ngonda:

Jaylen Ngonda sounded incredible in the sun. He has an absolutely wonderful voice, and the songs from his recent album had a classic soul sound without a sense of imitation. His music would be great for a dinner party soundtrack, and I’d love to hear him live again. 

The Last Dinner Party:

One of my all time favourite bands on top form. This is the 3rd time I’ve seen TLDP live, and I think this is the best I have seen them perform. With two studio albums under their belt, and a perfectly polished stage act, it’s not long until they will be headlining Latitude and even Glastonbury.

David Byrne:

I wasn’t sure if David Byrne’s ‘Who Is The Sky?’ show would be for me as I’ve never followed Talking Heads or his solo work particularly. While it was deeply bizarre, I thoroughly enjoyed it. All of his musicians and dancers did an incredible job, and I’m glad I got the chance to see it. 

Getting a free Meningitis B Vaccine:

Not what I was expecting to get out of the weekend, but Suffolk NHS Trust was giving away free Meningitis B Vaccines on the spot for under 25s! If you’re entitled to one, please make sure you take up the offer to protect yourself and your nearest and dearest. 

Linka Moja:

Linka Moja was my discovery of the weekend. Her talent was just evident, through her voice and her lyrics. Someone behind me declared ‘she’s so whimsical and I want to give her a hug’ which I think says it all. I’m looking forward to what comes next for Linka. 

Fatiha El-Ghorri:

I’m so glad Fatiha is on our screens more and more these days, and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing her perform live. While I had seen a few of her jokes clipped on Instagram before, she had me properly laughing. 

Madeline Brettingham:

Madeline Brettingham struggled slightly to connect to the crowd, I think because some of her act was focused around Bournemouth which I don’t think the audience was familiar with. I hope she didn’t leave feeling disheartened, and has a good run at the Fringe. 

Phil Ellis:

My comedy highlight of the weekend. The audience completely derailed everything Phil Ellis had planned, but his quick wit and ability to interact with the audience just shone through. I will definitely try to get down to his upcoming tour, if I can nab myself a ticket. 

Keo:

I didn’t give Keo a proper chance to win me over, as I listened to their set outside of the tent to keep cool. They didn’t make a particular impression on me and I headed off before they finished (in search of a cocktail in a pineapple, so a worthy cause). 

Billy Ocean:

I really hope Billy Ocean is warming up for his much deserved Glastonbury legends slot next year. He still sounded not perfect, danced around the stage and brought all the energy. I’m so wowed by his back catalogue, and loved singing along to all of the hits. 

Wet Leg:

I can’t lie, Wet Leg disappointed me. I think the sound mixing didn’t do them any favors, but their hour set felt like one continuous stream of noise without a whole lot to break it up. It was also spoiled by an awful crowd who were constantly leaving and re-entering. 

Alex James Britpop Classical:

This was a great way to hear all the hits. His vocalists were really good, and they played all the Britpop songs the crowd wanted to hear. It was a nice way to kick off Sunday at lunch time. 

Dermot O’Leary DJ Set:

Continuing with the crowd pleasing, Dermot’s set was great fun. It was very ‘wedding disco’, but honestly what is wrong with that? Everyone was dancing and having a great time.

Peter Hook and the Light:

I had the pleasure of interviewing Hooky last year, so I was delighted to get the chance to see him doing his thing. It’s evident he cares so deeply about the music, and hearing all the hits makes you realise just how talented he is.

Saint Etienne:

Saint Etienne seemed very nervous, but embraced that by asking the crowd if we thought the mix sounded right and by the end what songs we wanted to hear. I also thought their newer stuff was pretty strong. 

Self Esteem:

My highlight of the weekend, and one of the best live performances I have ever seen. Literally no one is on Self Esteem’s level, and I am genuinely so grateful that she makes music. Her whole team are stars, and I hope they all get the recognition they deserve.

The Flaming Lips:

I don’t think there’s a better way to end a festival than with giant inflatables, non-stop confetti and more lasers than I’ve seen in most arenas. It almost didn’t matter what music The Flaming Lips were playing as the show was just so much fun.
