Thirty, Single and Apparently Behind

Us women hit thirty and once again like we already do. We stop and look at what we have achieved over the last ten years and what we have and don't have. Most of the time what we are missing is of course why would we look at the positive when our feeds are full of celebrations and perfect lives. In particular us single ladies do this.

It is bad enough living everyday surrounded by those we love the most and they have babies, marriage, house, pets the list could go on. You can't help but envy this and think why can't I have this? It is as if when we reach thirty life starts to feel pressured. A different kind of pressure of not trying to grow up because you are now grown. You can't be that silly girl in her twenties, it is not an excuse anymore. Life should be figured out and you certainly should have your ducks in a row. Until then you realize you don't. You are just inside a twenty something girl trying to figure it all out.

All these things are definitely not the case and I am pretty sure some of them intrusive thoughts have crept in once and while. And that's okay but get rid of them please. Like a girl you are making an income in a climate that was made for two people? Flex? Have a house? Flex. You have some cuddly fur babies? Flex. You have amazing friendships and bonds with your family? Flex? Why are we made to feel put down and why are we letting society/social media put them down.

It is an honour to be around these girls who are in their thirties, they are brave and strong. They will not accept anything less because why should they. Not settling for a life they don't deserve or dream of. I just hope this reaches those girls who have felt this and are going through their thirties a little lost. I can assure you that you are not lost. Let your hair down, have fun! It will all come at the right time and when it does it will be so special and you won't be able to imagine a life before it all.
