I love this concept and I wanted to share it.
I had never thought of it like that.
The present is essentially a present, a gift.
Sounds cliche but no one is guaranteed to wake up the next morning and is not morbid to say that because it is true.
We are lucky to be able to move our bodies and our bodies to take us places without us even having to do anything.
And the same goes for our worlds that can change in seconds.
Understanding that is a possibility makes us feel grounded.
Our lives are so fast paced we sometimes forget to be in the present or in the moment.
This is a habit I sometimes wish I could get out of but it can be hard to realise that you are actually doing it.
Living in the UK is a big factor as to why most Britains take the present for granted so much because we are so heavily immersed into the working world and constantly jumping from one place to another.
Obviously depending on the time of year we are all busier than others because there's always birthdays, vacations and celebrations one after another.
And the fact a lot of us are lucky to have many people in our lives that have a big involvement we have to keep up with them too along our own.
Even those things are amazing things.
We sometimes are so focused on the next thing we don't think about now.
For example we only have to go into a retail store and they have Christmas stock in, up and out for August.
We have pit stops throughout the year to reflect but when I never take a stop to think this is where I am, I am here with these people and really look around.
Being present allows you to be grateful without you even knowing it.
Because things can change so much and no one knows what's around the corner, always try to despite the rush to be in the moment and live as much as you can.
